# Automations overview

RShift automations orchestrate platform integrations, content, monitoring, approvals, and AI steps into repeatable workflows.

An automation stores the trigger, schedule, prompt, skills, config, and status used to launch future runs. Each run snapshots the definition so a later edit does not change what already ran.

| Definition | The task specification |
| Run | One execution, with its own log and result |
| Runtime profile | The resolved provider, model, and requirements for a run |
