# Rewrite and channel variants

Adapt takes an existing piece and produces variants for specific channels: short social posts, long-form articles, email, and platform-native writing for X, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, WeChat, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, WeChat Channels, and Zhihu.

## How it works

1. Choose the source piece.
2. Choose the target channels.
3. RShift writes each variant to fit the channel’s format and audience.
4. Review and adjust each variant individually.

Variants keep a link back to the source, so you can see which piece produced them and when.
