# Create your account

A RShift account is a person. A workspace is where the work happens, and one account can belong to more than one workspace.

## Create the account

1. Open the RShift sign-up page and enter your work email.
2. Confirm the verification email.
3. Sign in and choose or create the workspace you want to work in.

## Sign in and switching

Your session is bound to an account. The workspace switcher changes which workspace you are working in without signing you out. RShift checks your current membership, role, plan, and enabled services on every request, so a permission change takes effect without reconnecting.

## If you cannot sign in

- Confirm you are using the email address that was invited.
- Check the workspace name or slug you expect to see.
- If you are signed in to the wrong account, sign out and sign back in.
