# Budget guardrails

Budget guardrails are workspace rules that cap spend. RShift checks them before it does anything that can create cost.

## Configure

- A per-campaign budget.
- A workspace-level cap.
- Alert thresholds before the cap is reached.

When a guardrail would be exceeded, RShift stops and asks rather than continuing. See [Plans and AI credits](/billing/plans/).
