# Connect a channel

Connecting a channel authorizes RShift to act for one account. Authorization is per account and per workspace.

## Steps

1. Open Publish and choose to connect a channel.
2. Choose the platform.
3. Sign in to that platform and grant the requested access.
4. Confirm which account was connected.

> **Caution**
>
> Check the account you connected. Publishing to the wrong account is hard to undo. RShift shows the connected account name before it publishes.
